This is a place for organizing paintings, drawings, photography, digital posters and writings of Songerie, a visual artist, educator, and human rights activist.

Artist Statement:

Formally educated in History & Political Studies, I approach art-making not as an escape from the world, but as a method of processing it. My work is a visual record of a shifting worldview - personal journey from the bright, certain modernist perception of the world, to its deconstruction, and to synthesizing something new, while navigating challenges that all of us face in different capacities: economic, judicial and political injustice and unhealed wounds from shared historical past.
